Rowan Donnelly

Rowan Donnelly
Rowan is one of the Directors at NESE as well as a Registered Surveyor, commencing his surveying / civil engineering career in 1996 before becoming a director of Hawkins Hook & Co in 2005 - later named New England Surveying & Engineering.
After growing up in nearby Glen Innes and studying at UNSW, Rowan found his way to Armidale, where he enjoys the country lifestyle.
As part of his day-to-day role at NESE Rowan enjoys meeting clients and contributing to new and interesting developments in the region. Away from the office, Rowan makes the most of his time with grandchildren and extended family and enjoys anything with wheels.
Sean Doodson
Director, Registered Surveyor
Sean Doodson
Sean is one of the Directors of NESE and has been in the industry for over 20 years. Specialising as a Registered Surveyor, Sean holds a Bachelor of Surveying as well as a Graduate Diploma of Urban and Regional Planning.
He enjoys the challenge of solving problems and finding solutions, as well as the opportunity to work on many different projects around the region.
Away from work Sean enjoys spending time with his family on their small farm.
Mal Donnelly
Civil Engineer
Mal Donnelly
Mal is a seasoned Project Manager at NESE, with a passion for guiding projects from inception to completion. His extensive skill set, problem-solving acumen, and dedication to achieving optimal results ensure the best value for his clients.
With over 25 years of civil engineering experience in local government and consulting, Mal holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering with honours from UNSW.
Outside of work, he enjoys trail running, photography and quality time with his family.
Jeremy George
Graduate Surveyor
Jeremy George
Jeremy is a Surveyors at NESE and has work with us since late 2017. Jeremy holds an Associate Degree of Spatial Science majoring in Surveying.
He grow up in nearby Guyra and had stints living on the Coffs Coast and Sydney. Jeremy enjoys problem solving and being a part of construction projects from concept through to completion.
Jeremy enjoys spending quality time with friends and family when not working.
Douglas Glasson
Urban and Regional Planner
Douglas Glasson
Doug is a Urban and Regional Planner at NESE and has worked with us since 2015, albeit a small break in 2018 when he travelled and worked in Canada. Doug has an Undergraduate degree in Urban & Regional Planning from UNE Armidale.
Doug helps to run his family small but growing range of business enterprises which keeps him very busy, he loves spending time with his partner and socialising with friends and family.

Office Manager
Kym Walls
Kym is the NESE Office Manager having a wealth of office and administrative experience. She is our friendly voice on the phone and the first person to greet you if visiting our office.
As a local to the area Kym enjoy spending time with her family, fossicking for rocks and the odd gemstone, she also loves to travel and checking out the sights.
Trent Gibney
Trainee Surveyor and Field Hand
Trent Gibney
Trent joined NESE in 2025 as our Trainee Surveyor and Field Hand and is currently completing a Certificate 4 in Surveying and Spatial Information Services (Surveying) at the Surveyors Academy.
Trent moved to Armidale in 2024 from Taree on the mid North Coast. He enjoys helping in his family business and spending time with his partner and mates.
